Trains

The beauty and the beast ;-) This is our new and old train. The new one can reach Frankfurt in 50 minutes and the old one could do in more than 1 hour or so.Again in the back round is Cologne's mascot "Der Dom" (Cathedral) and left hand is the part of the "Koeln Triangle" building. The central station located beside Der Dom. Cologne still quiet than usual as to day we've holiday still for Whit-Monday.So, Happy Whit-Monday for those who celebrate it.

Trains - also we had faster, new trains made in Italy. They are fine, BUT . . .big but therefor, because they are always broken in our frosts!
During winter we are thinking very carefully, are we taking old slower trains, which are surely moving or those fast trains, which may stay on a station !
If you look at my February`s posts, you understand , what I mean :)

Nice week to you!

Believe it or not, we do not have train tracks any longer. The railroads were sold and trucks deliver most goods in this country. There are a few large railroads but the tracks are laid between major cities and all the smaller cities are isolated. We have no fast way to go anywhere unless we fly.

I admire your photograph because it clearly shows where the politicians in this country, want to take us. It would cost trillions of dollars to get there again.

I have good news:

The three baby robins are on their way to Meet the World. I miss them already. It was quite an emotional experience for me.

Thanks for comment in Nelson. The new one looks like bullet train in Japan.

My grandson would love this photo. Nice shot. I like how the tracks are showing.

Today I give you a Memorial Day tribute.

My son was really impressed with this photo, he loves trains. Here in Malta we do not have any as it's too small an island, in fact you can go from one end of the island to the other in less than 45 mins by car!!!

Great shot with a beautiful building at the behind of the trains. I love seeing cathedral but too bad I've haven't seen a real one. Anyway, I think it would better if you decrease the shutter speed so we could see where's the trains heading too. Just my recommendation though. :)

Have a nice day in Cologne and thanks for dropping by.

I was in Germany in 1998 and I loved riding the trains! They were like the old one here, though. I'd love to ride one of those new ones! :)

Great capture - just the right moment. I think I'd enjoy the older one, the newer one doesn't seem that much faster - just 10-15 minutes!
